Competition Organisers 9. Election of the Committee 10. Election of the Appeals Committee 12. New Teams 13. Dates to remember Team registration for 2010/11 season
The main points from the meeting were as follows:
Committee and Organisers
No changes were made to the League Officers or Competition Organisers and the Committee was voted in en bloc.
League Season
The league season will start on Mon 6th September.
Captains are reminded that games may fall on Good Friday or Easter Monday and that if it is foreseen that these fixtures cannot be played then they should be rearranged as early as possible and ideally be played during the Christmas break when alleys tend to be available.
All-in Cup
Matches played in week 2 of the new season (week commencing 13th September) will also be the first round on the Bob Green Memorial Trophy (All-in Cup).
Results: Premier Division
The following teams have been deducted points for failing to complete fixtures last season: Village Idiots and Our Dons
Results: Divisions 1, 2 and 3
After 12 years as results secretary, Peter Poole handed in his resignation. The position will be filled by Pete Stump.
Results: Divisions 4, 5 and 6
Steve Tilley reported that the method of sending results sheets via email was working well and encouraged other captains to follow suit.
Presentation Evening
It was reported that the Presentation Evening, due to a low attendance, did not cover its costs and had to be subsidised. The low attendance may be partly attributed to 2 teams winning 6 trophies between them, but it was also noted that 4 trophies were not collected by the respective winners. In order to encourage winning teams to attend the event, Rule 30 will be amended.
The Chairman reminded everyone that the evening is open to all, not just competition winners.
Rule 30
Will be amended such that if the monetary award is not collected at the Presentation Evening, it may be donated to charity.
Charity Donations
£400 was presented to Cotswold Care Hospice and SARA at the Presentation Evening, but it was felt that there was a slow take-up in contributing to the scheme as only 24 teams have made a donation. Captains were asked to ensure that their teams are aware of the scheme.
Next season, contributions will be collected at Easter.
Singles and Pairs Competitions
Captains were asked to ensure that players are aware of the various competitions.
Also, due to players registering for these competitions and then failing to turn up to take part, occasionally the fees collected did not cover costs. It was proposed that the fees for entering competitons will now be have to be paid at the time of registration. A new registration form will be introduced and will be available for download from this website. The League Handbook will be amended accordingly.
League Handbook
The Shoot Out Club has again paid £40 for an advertisement in the new league handbook.
New Team
Jaegertrain will be joining the league in Division 6, playing home games at the Boars Head, Berkeley
