Ladies Singles Competition
43 Ladies entered this year's close fought competition.
The quarter finalists were:
  • Ruth Stump (Casuals) v Clare Mellerup (Chaos)
  • Jenni Noble (Titbits) v Ellen Sealey (Titbits)
  • Jane Strange (Lassies) v Trudy Barnfield (Chaos)
  • Gill Meadows (Lassies) v Sandra Lavis (Artists)
The 8 leg final was between Jenni Noble and Trudy Barnfield with Trudy needing a 9th leg to beat Jenni by a single pin with scores of 71 to 70.
Many thanks go to Slimbridge RBL, staff and stickers for hosting the event.
1 month ago All-in Cup third round draw has been made. Ties to be played by Sunday 12th February.

December 2011 The Boars Head, Berkeley has reopened.
November 2011 Any games cancelled due to the temporary closure of the Boars Head should be rearranged and played before the end of February.

November 2011 The Boars Head, Berkeley has unexpectedly closed and may not reopen until Friday 2nd December.
League fixtures with Boars Head (1), Jagertrain (6) and Colombians (6) are affected but if alley does reopen on 2nd December, fixtures with Wanderers (1) should be okay.
Teams who have arranged for All-in Cup or Front-pin Knockout ties to be played on the Boars Head alley should also take note of this closure.
November 2011 Gilly Stook can now be emailed directly via the Contact Us form on matters relating to her role as League Secretary and organiser of the Open Pairs and Ladies Singles competitions. Gilly would like to point out that she generally checks email on a daily basis but only between 5.30am and 6.30am.
November 2011 Front-pin Knockout second round draw has been made. Ties to be played by Sunday 15th January.
November 2011 Singles and Pairs Competitions: Would all captains forward the names of entrants for the competitions to the relevant organiser as soon as possible (and by the end of November at the latest).

October 2011 All-in Cup second round draw has been made for the remaining 41 teams in the competition. The following ties are preliminary to the second round and are to be played by Sunday 20th November:

  • Dropouts (2) v Bangers (5)
  • Wannabees (4) v Moscow Dynamos (P)
  • BA Rangers (3) v Alpha (5)
  • Fusiliers (4) v Dirty Turkeys (1)
  • Nobblers (2) v Duty Free (4)
  • Colombians (6) v Tearaways (P)
  • Super Troopers (6) v Aubs Army (P)
  • Ancient Mariners (4) v Beaver Patrol (P)

Ties for the second round proper are to be played by Sunday 18th December.
September 2011 Front-pin Knockout first round draw has been made. Ties to be played by Sunday 23rd October.
September 2011 Division 5: Possibles have been struggling to field a team and as a consequence have decided to withdraw from the league. The two games already played by the Possibles will be voided.
August 2011 Fixtures for 2011/12 season have been published.
Please bear in mind that Easter (next year) falls during the season.
League Handbooks will be distributed to team captains within the next couple of weeks.
June 2011 AGM and Registration for 2011/12 season took place on Wednesday 22nd June at the Dockers Club.
Before the meeting commenced, representatives from MeningitisUK and 1 Rifles Swift and Bold were on hand to receive cheques for £710 and £622.71 respectively.
£710 was raised through the League's charity collection scheme and £622.71 was raised via an impromptu "bucket" collection at the Presentation Evening earlier this month.
June 2011 After a spell of over 30 years in the League, Red Arrows have decided not to register for the forthcoming season due to an insufficent number of players.
Captain Ewan Green said "I hope that we are the only dropouts and trust that the Berkeley League will continue to thrive without the Red Arrows. We would like to place on record our sincerest thanks to the League Officers whose efforts have made our enjoyment possible over the years".
